FALL IS HERE AT JOURNEY!

Be sure to stop by Student Center A this Sunday for our 2011/2012 Student Ministries Orientation Parent Meeting. We will be discussing a sure-proof plan to have one of the greatest school years ever!

Below is our Fall Calendar with stuff you definitely do not want to miss.

Next Sunday, August 14th, we are going to celebrate the new school year by promoting everyone to the next grade all over campus. It will be huge party to ring in the new year and talk about what we are looking forward to in Riptide.

AND THAT'S NOT ALL!!!

At the end of the parent meeting this Sunday, Christina will also be selling a limited umber of of Padre Tickets in the Left Field Reserved Section for the PADRE GAME and SWITCHFOOT CONCERT on Sunday, September 18th @ 1:05pm. Those that attend this meeting will have first dibbs on these tickets. We will not be providing rides down to the game itself, but hope this is just a great opportunity for families to go together to a game and a concert. That's right, after the game, there will be a concert afterwards with the amazing SWITCHFOOT.

Each ticket is $12.50 (regularly $17 tickets) and that covers the game and the concert. If I still have some left after the meeting, I will open them up to be purchased the following Sunday Morning on a first come first serve basis. Because of the high demand for these tickets, I will not be able to hold any tickets. I will just distribute the actual tickets as I receive payment.

Fashion + Modesty = Suddenly Darling

This website was introduced to me today and I found it to not only be an incredible fashion resource, but an awesome example of two teenage girls taking on the issue of modesty.

Katelyn Rose, the local 16 year old that started this website says, "Often times, while on my quest to find the perfect ensemble, I can't help but acknowledge the trend that many teen girls fall into by dressing inappropriately and wearing what the media tells them to. I believe wholeheartedly that it's possible to dress with style and confidence while maintaining self respect and modesty."

Suddenlydarling.com is a web-based community that provides fashion tips, celebrity pictures, and even an online store where you can purchase the items.

Definitely worth checking out!
